Becoming a Scuba Schools International (SSI) Open Water Diver is the first step in starting your scuba adventures! Begin your course at anytime, we are ready when you are!
The SSI Open Water Diver course consists of academic and in-water training sessions, both in the pool and in open water. The online learning portion is completed in the comfort of your own home, and classroom sessions are held at our shop (440 Watt Street). Pool sessions for the summer of 2020 will be held at a private outdoor pool. Course dates and times will be discussed with the instructor once you have completed the registration form. You may complete your open water training dives with us at West Hawk Lake, Manitoba from May – October. Your course fee includes the instruction and rental equipment for these dives. During this period of social distancing, we are limiting our group sizes to 3 divers per instructor. We also have private options for those that prefer not to dive with a group.
For the safety of our customers, and to reduce the risk of transmission, we are asking all divers to purchase/provide their regulator mouthpiece, as well as mask, snorkel and fins.
Our commitment to providing safe and clean environments for our customers hasn't changed. We are sterilizing all rental equipment, and high-touch areas in our shop on a daily basis. For the safety of our staff, and other customers, if you are feeling unwell or having flu-like symptoms, please refrain from coming in to the shop. We look forward to introducing you to the underwater world!

Remember: Your DAN Student Membership is valid for 6 months, or until you complete your last certification dive, whichever comes first.
Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the health and safety of recreational scuba divers. The DAN Student Membership Program is included in your Open Water Diver certification course, whether you plan to certify with us, or by referral.
